Charles H Robinson bought the trapline from Mr. E.E. Hurley in 1944 and sold it to Earl McGovern in 1946. Although he was at Ottermere for several years he was not considered a 'true trapper' by most, since the majority of his time at Ottermere was given to raising Malamute dogs.

He lived in the same cabin built by Aron Westman and was known to be a very neat and orderly housekeeper. He also kept excellent kennels for his dogs which he raised and sold for dog teams.

He was a retired mountie who had served in Alaska, perhaps as a fingerprint expert, paraphernalia seen in his cabin suggests this may have been his specialty.

He was also a great story teller, who claimed he was once made an Indian Chief, there were pictures of him in full headdress. There were also pictures of him with a wrestler named "Yukon Eric", whom he claimed to have managed. Judging by the stories he told he led a very colouful lfe and there were always pictures or relics to back up his tales.

After Robinson left, somewhere around the mid 1950's the cabin fell apart over time and the grounds became overgrown with tall grass and thistles.

For a lot of families at Ottermere annual visits to the 'trappers' was a given every summer holiday to see how much nature had changed things.

The cabin burned down in the fire of 1988.
